After an enjoyable early morning run along the coastline, on a stunning day, we ventured to Sorrento to catch the ferry to Capri. There was a bus strike so we walked the 2km’s or so. On the island we decided to hire a light blue vesper scooter. Negotiating the traffic, driving on the ‘other’ side of the road, and the mountainous and windy roads was a site to behold. I had Santa in nervous hysterics, as she clung tightly to my waist.
We went to the Blue Grotto, but there really was not much to see with the high water level and our angle of view. A little disappointed we sped off to Lighthouse Beach, a place suggested to us by the gent from who we hired the scooter. Absolutely well worth it. To witness the ingenious beach facilities and Italian beach going style! After enjoying a refreshing swim we made our way back to the port. Had a lunch overlooking the harbour. Then made our way up the MANY stairs to shopping precinct perched on the hill. Literally all the top designers labels – Prada, Guchi etc.
After our trip back on the ferry we explored Sorrento. Vibrant late night shopping with many stores brandishing a wide of products made from lemons, which are synonymous with the region.
